SRH12 Timken Ring Block Friction and Wear Testing Machine (Timken Method)
The SRH12 Timken ring block friction and wear testing machine, also known as the Timken testing machine, measures the bearing capacity of various lubricants (lubricating oil, lubricating grease, and solid lubricating film): under specified test conditions, the maximum test force that the lubricant can withstand before the oil film ruptures is compared to the OK value, which complies with the national standard SHT0203-1992 extreme pressure performance measurement method for lubricating grease (Timken testing machine method). The friction and wear performance of the sample is tested by line contact sliding friction. The working principle is that the active component is a standard rotating ring, and the passive component is a fixed rectangular block of standard size. By measuring the width of the strip-shaped wear marks on the rectangular block of the passive specimen under different loads, as well as the friction force and friction coefficient between the friction pair materials, the bearing capacity of the lubricant and the friction and wear performance of the friction pair materials are evaluated. It can evaluate the lubrication performance of various lubricants under oil immersion lubrication conditions, especially suitable for simulating the anti scratch performance of medium and high automotive gear oils, and can be used for the study of wear performance of various metal, non-metal materials and coatings.
The machine is a frame structure, controlled by servo motors to load levers, and the various test parameters are set in units for easy operation and accurate and reliable test readings. The machine adopts an integrated structure design, combining computers, software, industrial control modules, and actuators in one frame to complete the control of the entire experimental process. It can collect test data in real time and draw corresponding test curves, and can store, retrieve, print and output test data or curves at will

OK value: The maximum mass (weight) added to the load lever weight plate during the determination of lubricant carrying capacity without causing scratches or jamming.
Scratch value: The minimum mass (weight) added to the load lever weight plate when scratching or jamming occurs during the determination of lubricant bearing capacity.
Method summary:
Before starting the experiment, the sample needs to be preheated to 37.8 ℃± 2.8 ℃. During the experiment, a steel test ring rotates tightly against a steel test block. The rotational speed is 123.71m/min ± 0.77m/min, which is equivalent to a shaft speed of 800r/min ± 5r/min.
The two values that need to be determined are the minimum mass (weight) of the oil film rupture between the rotating test ring and the fixed test block that causes biting or scratching, which is the scratch value. The maximum mass (weight) at which the oil film between the rotating test ring and the fixed test block does not rupture and does not cause jamming or scratching is the OK value.
