SH110 Automatic Apparent Viscosity of Cold-Cranking Simulator(CCS)

The SH110 Fully Automatic Apparent Viscosity Meter (CCS) complies with technical standards such as GB/T 6538-2022 "Determination of Apparent Viscosity of Engine Oil—Cold Start Simulator Method" and ASTM D5293 "Standard Test Method for Measuring Engine Oil Surface Viscosity Using a Cold Start Simulator Between -5°C and -30°C." It is suitable for testing the low-temperature dynamic viscosity indicators of engine oil. The instrument can measure the apparent viscosity of oil products at temperatures ranging from -35°C to -5°C in 5°C intervals. It features advantages such as high measurement accuracy, excellent repeatability, stable performance, and simple operation.

Suitable for measuring the apparent viscosity of engine oil under conditions of shear stress approximately 1200–20000 mPa·s and shear rate 105–104 s−1, at temperatures ranging from -5 to -35°C. The instrument features fully automatic temperature control, allowing users to conveniently and quickly perform testing and analysis by operating on a color touchscreen.

Apparent viscosity: Apparent viscosity is a physical concept, referring to the quotient obtained by dividing the corresponding shear stress by the shear rate under a certain velocity gradient. It serves only as a relative and approximate comparison of fluidity. True viscosity should be a part of irreversible viscous flow, while apparent viscosity also includes the reversible high-elastic deformation component, so apparent viscosity is generally less than true viscosity. Apparent viscosity can be further divided into shear viscosity and extensional viscosity. Apparent viscosity may be greater or less than true viscosity. In the context of engine oil, it can predict failures caused by insufficient pumping performance of the engine oil.
