Powder density refers to the mass of powder per unit volume. Due to the voids (or pores) between particles or within particles, the powder density is typically lower than the true density of the corresponding material. Based on testing methods, powder density can be classified into bulk density (also known as settled density) and tapped density. Bulk density is determined by filling a known volume of measuring cup with the powder sample in a loose state, then weighing the cup and the powder sample to calculate the bulk density. Tapped density is measured by compacting the powder in a container under specified conditions.

Compliant with standards:

GB/T 21354-2008 "General Method for Determination of Tap Density of Powder Products", GB/T 5162-2020 "Determination of Tap Density of Metallic Powders", ISO 3953:1993 "Methods for Determination of Tap Density of Metallic Powders", and independently developed and manufactured powder density testing instruments with proprietary intellectual property rights, referenced the United States Pharmacopeia.

The instrument covers all the indicators specified in the national standard GB/T 5162-2020 and ISO 3953:1993

For non-metallic powders, the powder density tester has expanded certain functions, such as: - The "vibration amplitude" has been extended from the standard-specified 3mm to adjustable integer values of 1mm to 15mm; - The "vibration frequency" has been expanded from the standard-specified range of 100 to 300 cycles per minute to a range of 0 to 300 cycles per minute; - The "vibration count" has been extended from the standard-specified 3000 cycles to arbitrary settings of 0 to 99,999 cycles (Note: When set to 0 cycles, the output result is the "loose bulk density").
