Measurement of needle penetration for pharmaceutical products and cosmetics
Needle penetration measurements for pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, such as ointments and creams, as well as semi-liquid and semi-solid materials, are carried out using the methods of European Pharmacopoeia 2.9.9, United States Pharmacopoeia, and WHO (United Nations World Health Organization). According to European Pharmacopoeia method 2.9.9, two different test suites can be used.
Advantages:
1, small sample size - very suitable for a small number of samples
2, easy to achieve bubble free filling
3, because the sample loss is low, easy to clean, so very environmental protection
4. Better reproducibility and repeatability
The ST211B needle cone-in meter can also be used with different test kits for other medical products and cosmetics, such as oils, gels, gelatin products, dental plastic pastes, bone cement, soaps, toothpastes, lotions, cosmetics, blasters, powders, eye shadow, lipsticks, mascara and hair styling waxes/gels.
Other material testing
Many of the needle penetration test kits used for chemical products are used for chemical products such as adhesives, sealants and grits. Especially for kneading, pumping, mixing, filling and other processes, it is necessary to adjust the consistency to optimize the measurement of the product.
A typical instrument used to determine consistency is the ST211B pin coning meter.
