Natural vaseline is derived from residual petroleum concentrate such as alkane heavy oil; Artificial vaseline is derived from a mixture of mineral oil thickened with pure wax or paraffin or paraffin fat. Vaseline smells of mineral oil, not kerosene. It can be used as raw material of medicine and cosmetics. The cone-penetration method of vaseline is determined by pharmacopoeia 0983 cone-penetration method.
Cone-in measurement method is suitable for soft creams, eye creams and common matrix materials (such as vaseline, lanolin, beeswax) and other semi-solid substances, in order to control the softness, hardness, viscosity and other properties, to avoid affecting the drug coating ductility.
