The detection principle of chemiluminescence nitrogen determinator

December 3, 2020

The chemiluminescence nitrogen determination instrument (SH708) adopts the principle of chemiluminescence detection. After the nitrogen content sample (or standard sample) to be measured is introduced into the high-temperature cracking furnace, the sample is completely gasified and oxidized under the high temperature of about 1050℃, and the nitrogen compounds in it are quantitatively transformed into nitric oxide (NO).
The reaction gas is carried by carrier gas, which is removed by the dryer with magnesium perchlorate, and enters the reaction chamber.
Metastable nitric oxide reacts with O3 gas from ozone generator in the reaction chamber and is transformed into no2 in excited state.
When the no2 transition from the excited state to the ground state, the photon is emitted, and the optical signal is detected and received by the photomultiplier at a specific wavelength.
Amplified by microcurrent amplifiers and processed by computer data, it can be converted into an electrical signal proportional to the intensity of light.
Under certain conditions, the chemiluminescence intensity in the reaction is directly proportional to the production amount of nitric oxide, and the amount of nitric oxide is directly proportional to the total nitrogen content in the sample, so the total nitrogen content in the sample can be determined by measuring the chemiluminescence intensity.
