According to the latest provisions of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MAROPL) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), from January 1, 2020, Marine fuel oil with sulphur content of no more than 0.5%m/m will be used by ships around the world, raising the quality requirements by seven times. On October 25, 2019, the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport of The People's Republic of China (MOT) issued the Implementation Plan of the Global Sulphur Limit on Marine Fuel 2020, which stipulates that starting from January 1, 2020, international vessels shall not use fuels with sulphur content exceeding 0.5%m/m in waters under China's jurisdiction. Fuel oil with sulfur content exceeding 0.1%m/m shall not be used in China's inland vessel discharge control area (to be extended to Hainan waters in 2022), and open waste cleaning system washing water shall not be discharged in China's vessel air pollutant discharge control area.

GB/T 17040-2008 "Petroleum Products Sulfur Content Determination Method (Energy Dispersive X-ray fluorescence Spectrometry)" can be used to detect the sulfur content of ship fuel. Sh407x-ray fluorescence sulfur analyzer is designed and manufactured strictly in accordance with this method. At the same time, SH407 X fluorescence spectrum sulfur analyzer adopts energy dispersion principle, mechanical and electrical integration microcomputer design, rapid and accurate analysis.
